About

Zachary Ramirez is a sophomore communication studies major at St. Mary’s University and a visual communication design minor. His passions include broadcast television, sports broadcast as well as audio and video production.

Ramirez is a part time employee at St. Mary’s University in the Alumni Athletics and Convocation Center. He works as a broadcast director with a video crew to stream sporting events that take place at StMU. Being guided by broadcast professionals and teaming up with other students is what he enjoys most about the media industry.

On his free time, Ramirez volunteers at Alamo Stadium to help S.A.I.S.D. high school students develop camera, graphics, and replay operation skills. Alamo Stadium is where he got his introduction to sports broadcasting and loves helping younger individuals sharpen real world media skills.

Recently partaking in the completion of a group short documentary “NO SON ANIMALES” as well as a member of the St. Mary’s Hispanic Student Union, Ramirez has learned the importance of how communication can resolve any issues that may seem challenging to complete.

After graduation Ramirez plans to create a path of success in the broadcast industry by working freelance events, and eventually, work to land a spot at a local news station or where God takes him.
